About Me
I have worked with adolescents, families, and communities for over two decades, providing therapy, consultation, and support after they’ve experienced trauma and loss in a wide range of critical incidents — including natural disasters and terrorism. I served as one of the main responders after the Boston Marathon Bombing.
Prior to that, I served as a Guardian Ad Litem (child advocate) in the Florida Court System. I have been consulting and training nationally on a range of issues, including trauma, crisis response, and suicide prevention and postvention.
As an adjunct professor at Boston College, I supervise graduate-level psychology students and teach Disaster Mental Health Psychology.
I am deeply committed to working towards dismantling systems of oppression in all the work that I do.
Fluent in Urdu/Hindi, I hold a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College, and a Trauma Certificate from the University of Tennessee.
